Will Powrie one of the early recording pioneers recorded for the Beltona Label in the very early 1930's. Known as "The Angus Ploughman" he recorded six sides, "Ane, Twa, Three, Fower, Five and Sax" in early June 1932 at the studio in Peckham, London and in May the following year at the Guild hall in Perth with his 9 year old son Ian playing the fiddle. In the years to follow, Ian would ulltimately become one of the greatest Scottish dance band leaders of all time.
