Jock Duncan is one of Scotland's great traditional singers. He inherited a rich repertoire of folk songs from his family and from other singers in the Buchan area of Aberdeenshire. Now at the age of 70 he has recorded his first album -- with a backing band led by Brian McNeill (of Battlefield Band fame), who has also produced the album for Springthyme. Songs include old favourites such as Sleepytoon and Barnyards o Delgaty, outstanding ballad versions -- Cruel Mother and Glenlogie and lesser known songs such as Rhynie and Lothian Hairst.
